PERKS to Couponing in Albuquerque

I have only couponed in New Mexico, but I’ve often heard it is much easier to coupon in other states. We don’t have many opportunities to double coupons here and we don’t even get very many coupons, but I do find it fun to coupon here and I’m happy with the savings I’m getting!!! Here are some perks I love about couponing in Albuquerque & now Rio Rancho too!

*There are 7 Walgreen’s within 7 miles of my house and 3 CVS’s!
And No Item Limits!
Usually the cashiers are VERY coupon friendly (once the cashier even had a binder with coupons and gave me extra coupons to make the deal a MONEY MAKER) and rarely do they run out of products even at the end of the week! PLUS…there are NO limits in NM at Walgreens whereas any other state has a limit to the number of products you can buy with their in ad coupons!

* We have a Pros’ Ranch Market and Lowe’s for some of the lowest grocery prices in the nation!
Here are some examples of Average National Grocery Prices in May 2012 and our local prices:
Ground Beef $3.99lb - I just bought this for $1.89lb and the lowest price I’ve seen is $1.59lb!
Whole Chicken $3.97lb - I just bought this for $.89lb and the lowest I’ve seen was $.77lb!
Potatoes $.67lb – On sale this week for $.75 for a 10lb bag which is only $.07lb!!!
Oranges $.97lb – On sale this week at Pros for $.20lb!
Not close to a Lowe’s or Pros Ranch Market? Easily price match their prices at Walmart!

Smith’s Rewards Program
I moved here from Minnesota and they didn’t have any stores at that time with any rewards programs. When I discovered the Smith’s Rewards Program here, I got pretty excited about it! Coupons + Rewards = Great Savings! Plus their 4X the Rewards points on gift cards allowed me to fill up my gas tank at $2.39 a gallon last Friday! I saved a whole dollar off per gallon just by getting rewards points!

Local Couponers
We have an active couponing community that makes me feel less alone when out and about with my coupon binder! Lol During Black Friday sales, I saw several people at the stores with their coupon binders closely monitoring each transaction and planning their transactions wisely so as to be sure to maximize their savings and not make any mistakes! Want to be part of the couponing community in ABQ? Join us on Facebook or Twitter (links provided to the right)!

Buy Local, Support Local!

We bought these little bunnies from an awesome lady in Corrales! We couldn't find any bunnies, so we went to the Village Mercantile in Corrales and they gave me her name and number. We called and the next day we got Bugs (chestnut colored Mini Lop). Then she called me less than a week later and the next day I got Bella (black Mini Lop). They are SO cute together! They snuggle and Bugs licks Bella all the time! He is so concerned with where she is and what she is doing! If you're ever looking for a bunny, Harlie in Corrales raises them and she is so friendly and knowledgeable! Thanks Harlie!
Thanks too for Village Mercantile in Corrales for giving us her name and number!

Bella!
